Shawn is an entrepreneur, artist and athlete who brings passion, perspective and promotional savvy to all his endeavors.
Shawn has spent half his life in Prince George, and considers it the place to invest his energy for the next 40 years at least. Two years ago he moved back home to launch his own firm, MarketingNow Consulting & Design, following five years with the Winnipeg Free Press.
Shawn is best known for his efforts on behalf of the performing arts in our city, as well as his enthusiasm for athletics, sports tourism, concerts and festivals. He's been involved with groups and events such as Baseball Canada Championships, the PG Symphony Orchestra, Theatre Workshop, Festival of Trees, Art in Autumn, United Way, Canadian Northern Children's Festival, the Chamber of Commerce and others.
Shawn is thankful for the perspective he's learned through numerous career and travel opportunities. In addition to being all over western Canada, northern BC, Yukon and Alaska, Shawn has lived in many different communities. As a competitive figure skater he has lived in Coquitlam and Orillia; as a forest fire fighter he has lived in Vanderhoof, Chetwynd and Terrace; as a university student he's lived in Lethbridge; as an Officer Cadet he experienced the rigors of CFB Chilliwack.
Shawn is fortunate to have the support and insight of his family, which includes Marie Petriw, a CGA, Borden Petriw, a nurse and former nursing instructor at CNC, sister Lisa who is a student and grandmother Olga Petriw.
