» The Future of Prince George
» I believe in our future
This election is about our opportunity and ability to become a first-class city.
We are blessed with a community of active, dedicated and hard working people, and have proven time and time again how resourceful we are. The building of UNBC is an excellent example, as are the many events we create and host. But somehow our city doesn't shine on the outside like it does in our hearts. We can change that.
Let's not forget the lesson of UNBC: We can significantly improve our city
in a very short period of time if we choose to.
Prince George is at the beginning of an exciting period of growth and prosperity, if we take advantage of our opportunities. Over the next decade we will see a significant change in the way we do things as a generation of new leaders emerge. We'll experience the waning influence of the lumber barons and the increased influence of large corporations. We'll also see the retirement of many civic leaders and traditional movers and shakers who have brought us this far. We now have the freedom, opportunity and duty to turn our thoughts away from the way things have always been, and toward the way we want things to be. The next three to five years is an important turning point in our history, a time when Prince George is poised to become a true first-class capital city, and emerge as "BC's Jewel in the Forest."
And now it's time for some new blood on city council. » Vision.
